For Yuwi-based indie powerhouse Tia Gostelow, the concept of new beginnings is not unfamiliar, with personal growth and internal development a recurring narrative within her soul-soothing brand of vibrant pop.
Tia’s fearless approach to songwriting has seen her soar from strength to strength since arriving on the scene, earning acclaim from industry tastemakers across the country for her ability to craft epic pop constructs to sing ‘n’ dance to.
The journey from talented teenage singer-songwriter into the confident, award-winning artist of today has been enjoyed by fans and critics alike. Tia’s 2018 certified GOLD debut album ‘Thick Skin’ sent folkesque reverberations around Australia, earning her the Queensland Music Award for Album of the Year and a coveted Triple J Feature Album slot and includes certified PLATINUM single ‘Strangers’.
With transformation on her mind, 2020 heralded a new sonic direction for Tia as she uncovered the disco-pop prowess of sophomore album ‘CHRYSALIS’. Collecting a trophy case of accolades and industry nods, from the rise of ‘CHRYSALIS’ to a #1 Album on the AIR charts to performances with the likes of HOLY HOLY and Middle Kids, plus multiple collaborative releases, co-writes and mentoring opportunities through renowned industry programs, Tia remains an absolute force, both on a national and international stage.
Inspired by the success of her second album, Tia embraced the opportunity to form her own label and step away from recording and touring to reignite her creative spark. She spent time soaking up experiences: conversations with friends, words on paper, and of course, an endless stream of playlist choruses.
Tia has emerged renewed, with fresh chapters of her story ready to be shared through her cultivated new outlooks, attitudes and sonic proclivities.
